Mental Health, Autism Spectrum Patients Struggle To Get Health Care Coverage

Mental Health, Autism Spectrum Patients Struggle To Get Health Care Coverage

Its definitely impacted my time. I feel like I have a child now. I have to tell someone what to do tell him when to shower, when to get dressed. I have somebody asking me whats for lunch? Whats for dinner? Now I am taking care of someone else. I am a graduate student in psychology, that is already like a full-time job in itself. Mental health Its been a similarly difficult path for many who have tried to obtain assistance for mental health disorders, which up until recently have been ignored by many health insurance companies that have simply refused coverage to those suffering from a range of diseases, including depression, schizophrenia and substance abuse issues. Our best understanding is that about 1 in 5 people will have behavioral disorder in any given year, including substance abuse disorders.

Coronation Street star, and well known supporter of mental health campaigns, Jennie McAlpine will cut the ribbon at the launch event, which will take place at the Kath Locke Centre, Moss Side, between 5-7pm. Jennie said, I am delighted to attend the launch of this innovative and much needed service. I think it will make a great difference to those in and around Manchester who are experiencing a mental health crisis and need somewhere to turn during the night. Manchester residents, or those registered with a GP in Manchester, can access the service by first calling The Sanctuary on 0161 637 0808. Following a conversation with trained Sanctuary staff, people will then either be offered telephone support or they will be invited to come to The Sanctuary.
